Chad Planner

Founder & Lead Creative

B.S. Visual Communication,
The Ohio State University

Chad spent his youth obsessed with graphics: Hanna Barbara cartoons, Testor model sets, Star Wars comic books, and music album covers. He followed that passion to The Ohio State University where he was accepted into the School of Design. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication in 1995, he earned the Art Director position at The Ohio State Alumni Association where he was responsible for overseeing the design and production of all communication to alumni including the monthly Alumni Magazine.

That was followed by a move to Cincinnati, where he worked at F&W Publications designing books and magazines including the original design and launch of Creative Home magazine. Eventually, Chad transitioned to the agency world as Art Director at Design Crew and then as a freelancer with Libby, Perszyk, Kathman (LPK) and Freedman, Gibson, & White.

Chad officially launched Pop in 1999 and the studio has been a proud member of the Montgomery/Blue Ash business community just northeast of downtown Cincinnati ever since. Over the last 20-plus years, Pop has worked with a wonderful client list including Procter & Gamble, Sunny Delight Beverages Company, Meritor, Atari, and Worldpay,

Chad and his wife, Donna, live in the Greater Loveland area with 2 daughters (and 2 dogs). He was a volunteer soccer coach for more than a decade, is currently a volunteer and a board member at the LIFE Loveland Food Pantry, and, most recently, part of the broadcast team for Loveland Tigers Girls Volleyball!
